Hello. I am wanting to find out the balance owed on my IVA to see if a house sale can settle it off. However, they seem reluctant to give me the outstanding balance. Is this normal practice??

It would be easy to give you the figure but it may not be best advice. You could try and get an early settlement.

Hi Lulu, usually the house proceeds are due into the IVA anyway, although you could make it part of your offer to sell the house voluntarily in exchange for F&F. Suggest you send them a written letter to this effect. In the meantime you can possibly work out a) what your outstanding payments would be if the IVA were to go to conclusion in the normal way and b) what the total costs to pay everything off would be from looking at the figures in your original proposals and any annual report you have received. At the very least ask them for a copy of the Receipts and Payments in your case. I might be able to help cobble some figures together for you.
