Hi I was made bankrupt in 2006 I am renting and never owned a property I'm in middle of solicitor doing searches I see that they will do a bankruptcy search will it cause me a issue its been 9 years and was discharged in 2007 hopefully it won't stop me from buying the house that we had mortgaged accepted on by the bank
This should not be a problem at all as your credit file is clear. The bankruptcy search will whether any of the assets are captured by a bankruptcy and if any of the parties are subject to bankruptcy proceedings. This is not the case here.
You might want to talk to Ryan or Shaun who have bith experience in the mortgage field with ex iva and bankruptcy cystomers. Their contact details are under ask the expert field

There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !
Hi,
I think this will cause you an issue as the solicitors responsibility is to the lender, and if you show up on this search it will cause you a problem even if the lenders search does not find it.
Who have you applied to for the mortgage? as they may not have an issue.

IVA Mortgage advice needed? Looking at Right to Buy and completed IVA still on credit files ?
There was no where on form and it was completed by mortgage broker and he never asked the question while filling it out I have got formal agreement from nationwide and never had a problem renting homes in last 9 years
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.
