Hoping somebody will be able to help me, massive error made today on my part, my IVA is now complete through F&F and completion cert received 23rd Nov however my partner sent me some money today to which was supposed to be my bank current account I currently used but for some absurd reason I reeled off my old account number for a bank account which was included in my IVA. I am trying to contact them to ensure the funds are returned to him and not lost but does anyone have any advice - I dont know if they will just keep these funds, feeling very stupid and very sorry for myself as my partner was helping me out with a huge car repair bill I have just had the pleasure of after it failed its MOT! here I was looking forward to a merry xmas having completed my IVA and now its turning into a nightmare :(

Panic over - eventually got through to the bank who say as there is a stop on the account the funds should bounce back to the senders account - fingers firmly crossed they appear back in my partners account later!

Just seen this - so glad it appears to be sorted and you can get the funds paid into the correct account!

The bank should either return the money to your partner or release it to you. They legally cannot keep the money but you may need a letter from your former IP confirming they have no interest in the money. It could be a hassle but you should get it back.

Sadly the funds haven't been returned to my partners account this evening but still keeping fingers crossed for the morning (although it is Saturday tomorrow!) really do hope it will come back, hoping that having my completion certificate makes things a little more straightforward.
Thanks Michael for your advice I may have to contact my former IP if it isn't resolved on Monday

It maybe that it takes a couple of working days so hopefully at the beginning of next week it will be back.

Phew! Money was returned to my partners account yesterday - thankful that was relatively painless just before christmas! goodness knows what made me reel off an old account number to him when he asked!

Good that it was all resolved.
Don't beat yourself over it- I made a similar mistake right at the start of my IVA and thankfully got it resolved within days.
