So I'm in the process of emigrating, and have requested a meeting with my creditors to bring them upto speed, and basically offer them the PPI and close the case kind of thing.

I've been informed that my creditors have rejected the variation meeting, what usually happens after this, I can put plans on hold, but really don't want to.

Hi,

Did the meeting actually go ahead?

Nope, meeting scheduled for the 11th, I get an email today saying

"Your creditors have submitted their votes in rejection to the variation meeting"

so it sounds like they cancelled it?

Sounds like they believe you will continue your iva and/or you are coming back within the next 6 years.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

I am surprised at that - you need to find out exactly why they rejected it.

by the sounds of it they didn't think it warranted a meeting, they asked how I was funding it and why I wanted to emigrate, basic stuff

I think the wording is wrong on the correspondance you have received.

I doubt creditors will reject a variation meeting - the meeting is simply just called by your IP.

What it sounds like they have rejected is the actual modifications you proposed.

So it sounds to me like the meeting took place and creditors voted against your modification proposal to end the IVA early.

Ask your IP to explain clearly.

Suspect this means your IVA will continue as originally intended or will terminate if you can't maintain the original terms.

ok, update time.

So it seems that negotiations are underway, not 100% sure how, but they get all excited when I told them that I was funding the move by a payrise I got the month after review time (best time to get one, as its all yours for 11 months :) )

they will probably say that I should have declared the payrise and that I owe them, so we'll see what happens tomorrow.

So after much backwards and forwards, my request was rejected.

So emigration on hold, turned into a holiday.

You can still go and maintain the payments from abroad.

They weren't fans of that..

They would have been unable to calculate my income / expenditure.

My current payments would have been impossible from abroad as well.

I am surprised as I know other posters in the past have been able to continue an IVA from abroad taking into account the exchange rate fluctuation
