It's possible it might influence their decision slightly on the assumption your contrbutions would have reduced accordingly but given you are offering less than what you were going to pay its probably not worth bothering with.
In addition if the variation meeting has been called it will be extra work to write again and give them the additional information.
I would just leave things as they are unless your IP hasn't yet called the meeting in which case you could tell them to include the information in their report.
