You may need to do a final review but just check closer to the date to make sure that you can cancel the DD.

Companies often fall silent, but it is important that you do not simply stop payments without discussing this with them first, in case there has been any extension or extra payments required.

I would start badgering now as they are also not fast to respond in some cases.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

good luck and I'm sure they'll advise you accordingly and it'll be a great feeling cancelling that direct debit after final payment.

Good luck to all.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

We have completed our six years but we are paying a payment holiday and some extra wages arrears.
Our final payment will be October.
We wanted to end it in September by paying the last 835 in one go but FJ weren't keen and said we have to let it finish in October.
Their excuse was the creditors might want the extra money if we had 835 to pay it off

Sorry - I just saw the IVA completed under your avatar.

For the sake of the extra month I'd just carry on. You're right in that they might want the extra money on top of the final payments.

Well done watzki with the near completion of your IVA.

We too had FJ for the full 6 years and I still cannot believe that it finished so stress free. We paid our last payment in Nov 15 and received our CC on 6 Jan 16.

We banked with Think money throughout and have stayed with them since as we like the way the account works despite paying the £24 a month fee. FJ cancelled the DD for us.

We once requested a payment break when our washing machine packed up and they refused to let us- said they didn't do that (we were told we could when we entered in to it all) but otherwise they were great.

Brilliant. I'm stalking you as I know you are with freeman Jones like us! Our six years end is October but last payment will be November due to missing one month because of a higher final hp payment on car. We are so close now! Good luck.

That's good scooby, hope ours is as stress free. To be fair we haven't had any issues with FJ, yes our payments have gone from £180 at the start to £422 to the end but we fully understood that it would change due to life changing over the last 6 years. We have just kept our heads down and got on with it. Have learned a very valuable lesson and it was only ever our problem to sort out. Enjoy your debt free future. We can't wait!
