Hi, I spoke with the IP advisor from Unity Corp and am now worried that my IVA will not go through. I pay rent to my parents but pull it out in cash, I thought that a letter from them stating the amount and what it is for would be fine. They are concerned the creditors will think a)it is too much and b)cash is not preferably. Any advice greatly appreciated

Hi and welcome,

If you have proof of how much you are paying, especially if it's on your bank statement and you can get a letter from your parents then hopefully it will be ok.

It depends on how much you are paying.

As long as it is a reasonable rent for the area there should be no issue.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Yes I agree if its reasonable shouldn't be a problem. Instead of cash you could set up a standing order/direct debit to pay them or do a transfer.

Thanks for your responses...have had trouble signing back in! Will set up a standing order from now on for the rent payment. I have a letter stating the rent/housekeeping and what it covers from my mum so hopefully that will support it.

On a separate note, my mum put cash into my account 2 months ago and I then booked her holiday for her online (she is not good at all with computers!) I am assuming I will need to explain this, but will this stop the IVA from going ahead?

I am finding myself waking up multiple times through the night thinking of little things that are worrying me about this not going through and am thinking it might not be worth all this stress. (note I suffer with anxiety).

Thanks in advance for any comments

There should not be a problem as you can explain it easily and it won't stop anything.

You might need to explain it but not all IPs do a review of past transactions. As long as you can show the cost of the holiday totaled the sum she gave you it seems reasonable and was pre IVA anyway so I can't see why your Supervisor will have any issue with this. Just take care in future in keeping you bank transactions to your expenditure alone- your Mum might want to get some computer lessons!
