Awaiting Proposal!
Hi, so I bit the bullet and am going ahead with my IVA. Unity are currently preparing my proposal (how long does this usually take?)

From start to acceptance is usually around 8 weeks, depending upon the complexity of your affairs and the speed with which you respond to requests for information or further paperwork.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

A few weeks depending on how proactive you are in getting all the info they need and how proactive they are at drafting it...

Thank you guys, so I signed the proposal on Friday and by Saturday morning had a copy of the pack sent to the creditors. My Creditor meeting is set for 16th May. All in all very speedy, and am genuinely pleased as it is a stressful time for anyone. hopefully all goes well on 16th and IVA is approved. Have just cancelled direct debits as I get paid on 18th so want to ensure I have the money to pay my first IVA payment.

Good luck with that - not long to wait now!

If you have some larger creditors that have the swaying vote Lindsey they might vote earlier than the deadline so always worth calling your Case Manager to see if they have had any votes/indications form creditors...

You can try, as Lisa says, to see if they have any votes in but a lot of companies won't tell you, otherwise just wait for the day and the phone call.

No you can just sit back and wait.

Kallis out of interest why wouldn't some IPs give the debtor an update?

I was told that up to the time of the meeting that creditors could change their mind.

That's a fair point but is quite unusual. An update would only be a guide just telling the debtor what has been received so far - its not a guarantee. Personally I would always keep a debtor updated.
