Yes, I did several times with o2 and Virgin and EE. With o2 it was only upgrades and not new contract so no credit check but EE credit checked for new contract and I was accepted !. Upgrades are normally no issue.

As winter_blues correctly says, if they offer you an upgrade and you can afford it, you have no problem.

I stayed with the same provider and upgrade a couple of times whilst in an IVA. Swapping provider only when IVA had concluded.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I upgraded my phone a couple of times with O2. I did try to take out a new contract with 3 but they turned me down.

Post IVA my credit score and report are 'excellent' on all three CR companies but still got a NO from Vodafone. No such drama's with O2 though. My new contract was painless and the phone turns up on Tuesday. I was with Virgin mobile.

i upgraded twice with o2 and another mobile twice with orange so you shouldn't have any problems upgrading with the same provider.

Years ago I couldn't care less for a mobile phone, now I can't imagine life without one. I echo your sentiments and hope the OP has no issues getting a phone contract.

I suspect it may only be an issue if your payments increase materially.
