I am 2 months from completion of my 5 years but have a further extension of 12 month payments. Can my husband pay the 12 months in one lump for me but with a proviso that this is not a gift but can be used solely for the purpose of clearing the last 12 payments.

Hi and welcome,

He can offer to pay it off but must make it sure that is just for the final year and will not be available for anything else.

If its not a gift but a loan your IP will also need to agree to this, as well as the creditors.
