Hello;

I need help obtaining a mortgage, I had a lump sum IVA completed in Aug 2012, and have managed finances well since then, including 2 credit cards paid off in full every month.

Any suggestions on who best to ask for advice/help?

thanks

Jonathan

hi there Jonathan, Ryan and Shaun have both been very helpful to posters on the forum after their IVA. Their contact details can be found in the ask experts a question link to the left (scroll down to find them).

I feel that you would need clear credit files to obtain a mortgage and that the IVA stays on the credit file for 6 years irrespective of whether completed early or not.

Worth a word with them though.

All the best.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I agree with Lesley -- both Ryan and Shaun have helped many ex-IVA'ers get a mortgage.

Their details are on this page ( scroll down to the experts details section):

Best of luck.

They are good at what they do - and I don't think they thought I would ever say that.

They understand the market and they understand what is needed to help get what you need.

Good luck.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

Hi Jonathan
As the IVA was completed over 3yrs ago, this is definitely a possibility, even if it still shows on your credit file.
We have been liaising with a new lender who will look at cases on an individual basis for people in this position.
Please contact me so we can discuss in more detail
