Hi All. Feeling very low at the moment. Been made redundant this week. Only been there less than 3 years so will come out with very little money. Had the worst year of my life and just wondering what else will happen. Since Feb last year I have lost my dog, my dad, my house. Now my Job. Where will it all end. My question is. What will happen with my Iva? I'm over 9 years in and its been an uphill battle to get this far. Any advise will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Chappie,

So sorry to hear of your problems and I hope you manage to find another job soon. It's hard when all of these things come at once.

How come your IVA is still running after 9 years? Is it an IVA or a DMP?

Having read your previous posts I see that is an IVA. You need to speak to the IP and see if you can bring this to a swift conclusion.

The only other thing would be to let if fail and go bankrupt - at least that is final and it would be over in 12 months with a possible 3 years of payments depending upon your disposable income.

Keep badgering them and tell them of ALL of your recent problems. You've had a lot of bad stuff going on - keep thinking that things WILL get better, may just take a bit of time!

It does seem a waste I admit but it sounds as though your company haven't been particularly helpful at times.

Chappie - do what is right for you and what is needed to get you to a position that this has all ended in terms of finances.

I have no doubt you will get a new job quickly - you have too much pride to not to.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

What about asking for payments to date to be accepted so the iva can conclude ?
Hopefully you will find employment again soon but in the mean time don't give up hope x

Payments to date seems a fair solution, none of this is your fault and out of your control. Nobody can say you didn't try. I sincerely hope things get more positive for you in the future.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi - sorry to hear how tough things have been for you. I suggest two options:

1) ask your IP to call a variaiton meeting to accept payments to date in F&F.

or/if not

2) ask for a payment break (up to 6 months) so you can find new job and get back on your feet a bit.

Lisa - this individual has been in an IVA for 9 years already.

Any payment further payment break will put them into double figures for an IVA.
