Tomorrow I will make my last payment and I've calculated that we've paid back over £110,000. This includes £30k in uplift payments and £10k shares. We had no PPI to reclaim!! Our initial debt was £126,000 although reduced to £115,000 because of a claim which was rejected for some reason. I expected to be elated at this point but I don't. I just cannot believe that we will be out of this until the cc arrives. I think if we had not been transferred to another company I would be feeling much more optimistic. Anyway, a holiday has been booked and paid for and I cannot wait. First trip away as a family since 2009. I'll keep you all posted as completion progresses.

Great news footiemad and well done - the letter will be here before you know it!

Enjoy that holiday, it will be so relaxing for all of you.

Thank you all for your good wishes. i cancelled my DD and must admit it made me feel really good. Amazed at how fast the last 5 years have been - it'll be strange not having to send the payslip for someone to scrutinise. Can't imagine ever being in debt again though, this has taught me such a good lesson in life. I've never been really materialistic but I always used to shop at what I call decent shops. Nowadays I'd make a good model for Tu or F&F and when I need anything special for the kids or an occasion I go to Bicester shopping village. Fingers crossed for a brighter and less stressful future for all of us entering and completing our IVA's.

Well done and congratulations --- things will feel even better when your pay packet goes into the bank and no IVA payment comes out !!!

Just caught up with this Footiemad as I have been away. Congratulations and well done I am so pleased for you that you have reached the final payment. I too just felt relief and will never get myself in that position again but these things do totally spiral out of control. I am sure you will soon have that CC but enjoy that extra cash each month and that holiday.
