Hi I have paid my IVA up in full however I believe it will remain on file until 2018 the original date it would have been paid up. I am currently looking at renting property with my partner will this affect my chances if the rental company does a credit check.
The IVA was paid in full back in January this year.

Since paying your iva in full have you received a completion certificate ? Have your records been amended to show IVA concluded?

If so you may find landlords and letting agents a little more tolerant towards renting to people with past iva's.

The other option is to pay 6 months rent up front to show you are committed.

Good luck

Could your partner afford to take on the tenancy by themselves?

Hi it will depend on what checks, if any, the landlord undertakes and even then if the IVA flags up on their attitude towards it. Private landlords are less likely to do fuller checks.

In your case you have the added backup of the joint tenant.

If you do have problems a guarantor might help with this.
