Can you please advise what I have to do to remove default from credit file ?

Hi, my IVA was completed this month (July) and has now been removed from my credit file along with most defaulted accounts barring 2. 1 of the accounts went a month over the defaulted date which I can live with the other is nearly 2 years. I would like these removed from credit file ASAP as I want to remortgage to reduce my interest %. Can you please advise what I need to do to remove or if I can have third party do this on my behalf.

Hi,

Send a copy of your completion letter to the data controller of the creditors involved and ask them to remove default dates back to the start date of the IVA.

You may have to wait until 6 years from the start date of your IVA has passed.

If it has then send the creditor a copy of your CC and get the defaults removed.

Bear in mind if you have only just received your CC your creditors may not have had chance to update their records yet.

You may also still be showing on the register as this takes up to 3 months to come off. You can check here:
