I am in the process of moving home, my existing lender will not give me a new mortgage because of my credit rating. I have four payments to go to finish the six years of my IVA, can you recommend a broker who could find me a mortgage or should I try and rent until the Iva has been finished.

You will have to wait until your credit file clears -- which should be a few months after you get your completion certificate, assuming all defaults are correctly dated. Have a word with Ryan, a broker experienced in adverse credit applications:

My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Hi I'm afraid Foggy is right you have to wait until 6 years has passed, you have your CC and you have come off the register.

You might find this quick video I made about cleaning up your credit record useful:

Noddle and Clearscore are also free credit agencies to consider using:

Speak to Ryan or Shaun for specialist help with remortgage.

Sharing from experiences of dealing with debt
