My IP (McCambridge Duffy) says that my CC should be with me by the end of the week.

Once I get this, I want to start building my record up once the defaults etc have been erased. What do I need to do? where do I do it? and who with? I am already with with Noodle, but who are the main agencies?

How do I build my credit up? With credit cards? I have heard you have to pay it off in full and others say that if you pay it off in full, you are not actually building your credit history.

Brilliant news.

The three agencies are Call Credit (Noddle I think), Clearscore (Experian I think) and Equifax.

The former are free and you can pay just £2 for a report from the other one.

Your bank account will help as will any mobile contract.

With credit cards then you should pay it off in full and it will look good.

Try a soft search before you apply for one as too many applications for credit will look bad.

My bank account has been in good standing for the past 6 years for some reason *cough cough* and I have 3 mobile contracts for the family.

I have been reading that the insolvency register, even though you have completed the IVA will keep it on record for a further 3 months. Will this be reflected in your record?

Yes, it can remain on the register for 3 months but the IVA will remain on your credit record for six years from the original start.

My original start date was 02/09/10. We had a six month payment break, meaning that with the extras we had to introduce (due to overtime) our last payment was in May 2016. We are now in August. Does that mean that next month everything should be wiped clean?

Should be wiped clean next month but you do need to check the agencies to make sure everything is clear.

You might find this quick video I made about cleaning up your credit record useful:

Noddle and Clearscore are also free credit agencies to consider using:

https://www.noddle.co.uk/
https://www.clearscore.com/

Once clear some people recommend you apply for a credit card with a small amount of credit and clear the balance every month to begin rebuilding your score.
