F.A.O. Shaun / Ryan.
I have a question about shared ownership mortgages - post IVA. I completed my IVA last October 2015, it has been removed from the register and from my credit files.

I was just wondering if there are any specific mortgage lenders that should be contacted for this type of mortgage?

Is there a set length of time that I should leave before attempting to get a mortgage (obviously I need to save for a deposit)?

Any advice is gratefully appreciated.

Thanks

Danny

Give them a ring Danny - their details will be under their link on the ask experts a question on the left hand side of the page.

They may not pick up on this until tomorrow now.

Hi Danny. There's not a specific period really, it does just depend on your circumstances however if the IVA is no longer showing on your credit file it does open up more options. There are a few things you should do in preparation of an application however and an Adviser with specialism in this area should be able to guide you through these. Hopefully you should only require a deposit of around 5%

Sounds promising and I know Shaun has worked the Oracle for some clients. Best of luck and hope you got good news.
