Before anyone says, spending is the last thing I want to do, but if a new car was needed etc etc Just want to clear something up for my own curiosity.

As mentioned in a previous post, our IVA finished in May 2016. It should have finished Sept 2015 but 6 month payment break and 2 further sums to be introduced to the agreement meant that from June onwards, our money was ours.

I have signed up with Noodle and see I have 5 outstanding defaults that were last updated around the 15th of last month. My certificate is on the desk waiting to be posted which I have been told I should receive some time soon.

When my credit file updates on or around 12/09/16 will those defaults be gone?

Also I have 3 mobile phone contracts, 2 bank accounts and British Gas all saying up to date. To improve my credit rating, do I need to get a credit card and pay off in full or will the accounts with up to date suffice? (thanks to foggy for link in another post to Debt Camel)

Hi,

Just make sure that the defaults are sorted - write to the data controllers for the companies involved including a copy of your completion letter and tell them to remove defaults asap or you will escalate things to a complaint.

Just noticed I have defaults that are dated prior to the IVA date of 02/09/10 which are 20/08/10 and 26/08/10. Is this normal or could there be issues.

Thanks for being patient. I just want to get my CC, clean everything up and get on.

The important thing is the dates of the defaults. You need to make sure they are on or before the start date of the IVA -- they will fall off when they are 6 years old. The IVA itself will not disappear until you are removed from the Insolvency register --- which can take up to three months from the issue date of the certificate of completion ( then a few weeks for the CRA's to process ).
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Make contact with those creditors showing incorrect default dates and ask them to amend their records - they may not do it without a copy of your certificate of completion though
