Hi All

I have done a full and final payment on my IVA which started feb 2011 and received my certificate months ago but now on my credit file I have a default from capital one which has shown a default every month since the IVA started. What can I do to get this removed please? I know that my IVA should drop off my file in feb 2017 but am I really worried about this default in the meantime

My main worry is that there is a default showing under every month since the IVA started this is on Noddle. Is this normal?

There is only 1 default per debt, but it is reported every month! The important thing is the date of the default ... when it is 6 years old it will drop off along with all the monthly reports.

Have a read here:

My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

The date of the 1st default is when the IVA started so looks ok then

Thanks Foggy

Initially I too was concerned at seeing a default every month. I waiteded a couple of months after the six years were up and then rechecked.

All but 1 default had gone. After a six month fight, ultimately involving the Financial Ombundsman Service, (least I got £100 fine out of it too) the remaining one went as well.

Couple of months later I tested the worthyness of my credit rating by getting a small mac on HP, (£30 per month) which all went through fine

Couple of months after that I got my first new car for ages. Bye-Bye wrecks - hello manageable debt!

So dont worry, but monitor, check and hassle.
