You will have to declare any assets whether owned jointly or otherwise.

If you have not already spoken to anyone then I suggest you do so. Speak to Vincent Bond (details under the ask experts a question link on the left hand side of the page) for some free advice.

As said -- all assets have to be declared, whether jointly owned or not and whether they are to be included or not.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

While you have to declare it you can exclude it. For example we often exclude former marital homes where the ex still lives but the mortgage is still in joint names.
