Bit of a dilemma here my wife's sister in law (lives in Houston Texas)has been diagnosed terminal cancer and has only a few weeks left to live. Her brother has said he will pay for our flights to go and see them.
Our little problem is we need a credit card to hire a car (for deposit against the car)what chance do you think we have of securing a card with a small limit on it.
We have finished paying but not yet received our cc and obviously still on the insolvency register

I believe Aqua do a soft search first ( which doesn't show on your file ) ... worth a look.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I think Ocean Finance and Capital One also do a soft search.

You can do a soft search on moneysaving expert website. As soon as my IVA finished i applied for a Aqua credit card to start building credit file up and i was turned down. I then checked the soft search eligibility site and it said Luma ( capital one ) would have a 95 % chance of acceptance so i applied and was accepted with 1500 limit
