I paid my final payment on 1st Sept16. Huge relief. Firm sent me letter & I thought in due course would be certificate. During IVA I received so many PPI forms which I signed & returned at least 3times & they were in a triplicate batch each time.I was reading online that there is a big case going on about this as a delaying tactic. Also on other hand someone had their cert within 2weeks (realize that is super quick)
My problem, which they know about, is needing 2nd lot of surgery & terrible stress issues. I was just beginning to calm & want to put all in order before surgery, they also know this. Now since letter, demands to sign more PPI forms. Do I sign, do I not sign? Am elderly & was first time ever in dept. Due to business problems.Any answers please?

Hi,

Keep pressing the company and tell them why you need this completion.

Hope the surgery goes well.

They will not issue your certificate until they are happy with PPI -- I would say sign the forms.

There is no delaying tactic involved with the court case -- this was to have been heard months ago and was delayed by the courts -- they need three appeal court judges to sit at the same time -- getting them together seems to be a bit of a trial (forgive the pun!).
To be honest the outcome will have no real effect on us or the completion of cases -- the situation will be as it is now: assign PPI or wait for completion ... one day!

If you don't sign the assignment documents they will have to keep the case open unless and until they have verified the PPI position.

Therefore if you want your CC quickly you will need to sign the assignment forms. If in doubt seek legal advice.

It makes no odds to you as the PPI money will be due into your IVA in any event.

I'm not sure what you mean by delaying tactic.

Thing is though that are only so many times you can keep signing those forms.

What makes the matter worse ids that the ombudsman keeps instructing earlier claimants to reclaim due to, in it's view, previously incorrectly refused claims or underpaid refunds (often omitting the interest it seems). They also advise that fresh claims need to be submitted and old ones cannot be re-used.

I agree -- the ombudsman should have come down hard on lenders to sort this out from the start -- or at least adding compensation to claims that have to be re-submitted --- and ---- the Insolvency Service should have laid down a set way forward, with no doubts as to how PPI was to be handled in an IVA, from the start. We might not have liked it but at least we would know what was happening !

hi there just a comment how many times do u have to sign and resign ppi claims forms for the same thing ppi money is not going to magically get any more .also once should be enough and this should not be used as \ delaying tatic at the end of your term when ppi has already been claimed by these ppi claims companies who must look down every avenue the first time to delay your cc because the iva compant and ppi claims are greedy is disgusting after 5/6 years to do this .please don't use the old chestnut they hav to do this they have had 5 years to do this ppi has been around long enough they stop ***** footing with peoples lives causing more stress \nd pitful excuses , it seems debtors have to put up and shut up while companies do what they want. and this should not be happening.

I would have thought an assignment should help with this.
