I have just completed my IVA and i'm keen to move off the standard variable rate mortgage i have with santandar. has any one had any success with post iva mortgages. tons of rubbish on google.
As previously suggested - have a word with either Ryan or Shaun the forum experts who have been instrumental in helping many posters sort out a mortgage.

It is possible but normally only after six years from when the IVA started. If you have reached this time speak with one of the mortgage advisors such as Shaun Vickery or Ryan and they can tell you for sure.
registered 18/10/2010. last payment was in september, so guessing the credit files will update over the next month or so. i dont need to remortgage immediately. but would like to know my options.
Ok, so the first task will be to obtain your certificate of satisfaction from your IP (this can sometimes take some time depending on who you are with. Once the credit reference agencies are update you will be in the best position to proceed. In the meantime, if you haven't done it already, I'd obtain a copy of your credit file (I personally use www.noddle.co.uk (I don't receive commission: they are free for life and nice and easier to navigate) to check everything is correct.

i check the reference agencies regularly. credit expert is great apart from the obvious reference to the IVA. experian however shows lots of adverse information.
Yes, ideally they all need to be tidied up. We would normally guide our clients through that and ensure that the groundwork is done well in advance of any application because it's important to get everything lined up correctly first and apply to the right lender too. if you are confident to do that yourself then all well and good but it's worth spending the time.

I've just stumbled across this thread and I too have a mortgage with Santander, I settled my IVA early but am still in the IVA term (started April 2013) and have had no problems with Santander in securing a fixed rate deal, it is about to come to an end now and they have already mentioned new fixed rate deals that are available so its worth giving them a call.
Hi Shaun, yes I have been quite lucky. Not long after I started my IVA I enquired about rates and they told me nothing was available for me, I didnt question it as didnt want to rock the boat. I have never mentioned my IVA but a few years ago I secured a new fixed rate deal, this comes to an end in April next year although I do have fixed rate offers when I phoned them up this past few weeks (I am holding out until Dec/Jan time though when I can secure a deal without paying an early repayment fee)
That's interesting Lisa. I suspect for some reason they didn't do a new credit search last time and hence it didn't draw the IVA to their attention. Possibly you wouldn't be so lucky again but fingers crossed for you. Thanks for the info.
