I am looking to move house as I'm having problems with my current landlord. If I don't mention my Iva will the letting agents of any new prospective rental I apply for be able to see it? Is it worth not saying anything unless they ask me specifically? My partner is a contractor and also has bad credit, therefore every previous agent we tried to apply through didn't want to use him as the lead person on the tenancy. I really need to move soon as tenancy coming to an end and we really don't want to renew at the current property we are renting.
Some landlords will credit check you and it will show up if they do.
Try privately as they don't tend to.

I am afraid most, if not all, letting agents will conduct a credit search and the IVA will show up. Some, will still proceed but you should ask upfront as, if it will be an automatic refusal, you will have wasted the fees they will charge you for the search. Those that will accept an IVA will often require a larger deposit or rent upfront. Private landlords don't usually credit check, so try those first.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

The private market is a good idea as is being up front with any lettings agency. Some will ask for a guarantor if there is an adverse credit history so that may also be an option.
