Amid all the worries and concerns that are posted on this forum, I wanted to give everyone some hope.
I have just completed my IVA with Stepchange (formally CCCSVA), and it has been a relatively painless process.
I say 'relatively' as the process does by its very nature mean I have had to live on a budget for the past 5 years, but I do believe that Stepchange have been more than fair in their allowances etc.
I have had no PPI-nightmares or nasty surprises when it came to month 54, house valuation etc.
And best of all, I received my completion certificate within 9 days of making my final payment.
I hope this doesn't come across as me 'bragging', and I am certainly not a Stepchange stooge! I simply got my head down and went with the flow for the past 60 months, and I have come out the other side unscathed. And I now have a much healthier attitude towards credit!
Anyone who is thinking about an IVA should go in to it with their eyes wide open. Yes, some do have problems along the way. But my experience has been trouble free, and the past 5 years have flown by.
Hi Well done Adfax!! We are with Step..... just wondered how the equity release went?
Did you have any trouble getting your valuations for your house? We are just coming to the end of a six month payment break but feel we are getting there!
Just had my equity valuation done in January with Stepchange.
They arranged a local valuer to call and see the house (after making arrangements for the appointment with me) so the valuer gets to see the condition of the house (lack of repairs, etc).
The valuer reported back to Stepchange and within a few days I got a letter informing me there was no equity due to be released so IVA will end this summer.
