The IVA keeps increasing my payment. I have received an email from my advisor, who is not very helpful. I was supposed to be paying this for 5 years, and it is past 5 years, and I have never received any statements.

Ask for a complete breakdown of all assessments.

Also are you sure that you are in an IVA and not a debt management plan? Apparently a few years ago a number of companies were "selling" debt management plans as if they were IVA's.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

Hi and welcome,

Which company are you with? Agree that you need to speak to them to find out what is going on.

Check the Insolvency Register to see if you are on there - if not then you are not in an IVA.

Hopefully David mond can pick up on this post and help - it would be unusual for clear debt not to provide any documentation.

We were with cleardebt and always had an annual report after a review. Your IVA , if you are in an iva, must have a start date and a number of payments you have to make. You must know how many payments you have made and deducting this from your original payments to see how many are left.

When you say £451 left, do you mean that's the balance from the income and expenditure or that's all you have for food etc? Does not sound much if that's to feed and clothe a family of 5!

As Kallis says, check the insolvency register to make sure it's an iva not dmp

The whole balance from our income and expenditure was paid over to our IVA. We had nothing other than the allowances on the expenditure form.

Has your income gone up? Payments are not fixed and increase in line with any income increases (50% I think). Didn't you have any paperwork when they asked for the last increase?

Did you have equity or a minimim repayment? They can't just extend for no reason.

I think David Mond will be very unhappy to read that a member of his staff is being unhelpful, everyone we had contact with was very professional and efficient.

I think the best thing is for David to pick this upfor you. It seems very strange that your income and expenditure gets posted and they tell you to increase the payments but not why. We had allowances for our dog and I assume they're still ok.

If you started 2010 and it's 6 years I can only assume it's because you had debt with Northern Rock or because the payment was so low.

I am sure David Mond will help clarify things for you.

I had allowances for all three of the dogs I had at the time which covered their insurance premiums.
