Sorry haven't been around much since I completed my iva and its been a rollercoaster of fun since. I've been trying to fix my credit score and get on with my life. Living within my means is something which ive stuck to since my iva but ive also moved forward, got engaged, changed my car post iva I can recommend citroen, not for there cars but there understanding, I've had 2 good deals from them with better than normal apr. Stuck to the rules a credit card with an ever increasing limit but spend is minimal each month I spend £50 and then pay it off.

The problem I have is my credit rating is still poor, ive checked both my reports and my iva isn't showing, no defaults, it shows my cars of paid off as they are recent, shows my credit card, and phone all up to date.

The plan is to buy a house next year before I hit 40 and it become impossible to get any sort of mortgage due to my age and running out of time.

I remember there was someone on here who could help with a mortgage and what I might need to save deposit wise? or even some advice to improve my credit rating, really don't want to have to pay noodle £40 a year or one of the others £15 a month, to get my credit rating back on track.

Hope everyone is doing ok with there iva's and I will hang around a bit more.

Speak to Shaun or Ryan - can be found under ask the experts.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

Hi Antm. Sounds like things are getting back on track which is great news. Don't worry too much about the credit ratings from the credit reference agencies themselves. Lenders have their own unique way of rating you. The things you can do: 1) Make sure you are registered on the voters' roll, 2) Use credit cards but pay them off in full every month, 3) if you use an overdraft, although preferably don't, make sure you operate within it's parameters. The other things that are most likely to affect your chances of success with a mortgage application are the size of deposit you have and your income. A specialist adviser will be able to give you the best chance by placing your application correctly with the lender who will give you the best chance of success. Avoid applying 'randomly' as this might reduce your chances. Hope that helps?

Sound like you're moving on nicely, hopefully that house purchase will happen for you too. All the best and I'm sure a quick word with Ryan or Shaun will help.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Speak to Shaun - he can possibly help you find a remortgage.

Hi Antm, well done on your completion and moving forward, it's amazing how you stick to the rules even when you don't have to, I do, sometimes I find myself smiling because I'm sat having a coffee which was a rare event when in my IVA, checking what's gone out and how much is left, these days I don't have to do that. I wish you well in your quest for a mortgage and hope that someone somewhere will realise that you are a very safe bet. Good luck.
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.

Hi Pod_moo, been a while since ive been around, I'm sorry!

I went to the bank and spoke to one of the guys that specializes in these things with my background, turns out I can get the new govt isa I put in £200 and the govt puts in £50. I have to stick to £200 a month but to open it I can put what I want, so will save a couple of months and then top it up.

Once I get underway will give Shaun an email and see what else I need to do, I knew there was someone here who could help.

If theres one thing I do struggle with or one weakness, its team sky cycling stuff, far too pricy with Rapha kit, lol!

If I can raise £6k this year a house could be a reality! Thanks all.

Well the ball is moving, I contacted zebra money, which Ryan runs, have been in touch with Mike who has been really helpful, finally got my credit reports cleared so now have been able to send all the information off, fingers crossed over the next couple of weeks I can report back we have a pre-approved mortgage. I will say it takes time and with the right guidance and I'm hoping ive done this all right I'm hoping by the summer to be sat in my own garden enjoying a beer!

Still early days, but excited looking at houses, hoping we can afford it!

It all hinges on the paperwork and if we have enough deposit. But fingers and toes all crossed!

My fate is in Ryan's teams hands, and good hands as well!
