Hi

A couple of years ago we ran in to the problem of a failed boiler....not been on benefits and already reached our 2 non payments we couldn't find any help at all even though we have 2 small children. seems we didn't fit into any of the usual boxes.

After several weeks of hair pulling and boiling water on the oven I accidentally came across charis grants (I say accidentally because even CAB had no idea they existed).....we filled out a relatively simple on line form and submitted some quotes...after several weeks we had a bankers draft for the full amount saving us from a cold winter (non repayable grant)...Hope this helps someone.

Hi -- thanks for that -- it might prove useful to a few.

On the 2 non payments front -- this is usually that three MISSED payments constitutes a breach --- AGREED payment breaks do not. So for smaller emergencies a break could be negotiated.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
