Hello



myself and my husband are in an iva. There are no joint debts in it but there are several debts in our own names but the iva is joint. We are separating. I want to contune with the iva but my husband wants to go bankrupt. Cn i continue with the iva on my own for just my debts???

Hi Samantha - sorry to hear about your difficulties.

There is no problem with you continuing with your own IVA, so long as you can afford to make your share of the payments indpendently of your husband. Ask your IP to confirm how much you need to pay, and make sure that you inform them of your circumstances.

Contact your IP as soon as possible and explain the situation, you may be able to continue paying into your IVA if you can afford your share of the contributions on your own.
