Our IVA is coming up to 6 years on 26th August.

I thought I would message my financial advisor to see what we should do in regards remortgaging to move.

He has just said I have to wait a further 3 years after the 6 years are up as there is currently on one lender that will consider us after the 6 years.

We were never told this from our IVA company. We was led to believe after the 6 years are up it comes off our file and we start a new.

Please advice I'm so upset right now

Please don't get upset. The professionals will answer soon and point you to some people who have helped others get a mortgage

That is one lender on his panel. We have two whole of market brokers who have been very successful in getting mortgages placed for our members --- contact Ryan Radford or Shaun Vickery ( details under "Quick Links" - top left - then "The Team" )
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

I'm not sure why your IFA is suggesting 9 years instead of the standard 6.

Speak to one of the forum experts to see if they can help as Foggy suggests.
