What happens if we do not have enough equity ?

been in an iva for 3yrs in the final year we have been told that we have to remortgage.what would happen if we do not have enough equity in the property to do this.

Hi Laura,

This will happen to a lot of people. What usually happens is that your IVA will continue for a further twelve months if you cannot remortgage (which is unlikely).

You need to clarify this with your IP.

we didnt have any equity so we went for a further 12 months .
completed july 2011
