I am in a relationship, we are getting married next year. I live with my partner in her flat. She has a mortgage and I pay her rent to live there. When we are married does my debt become hers, can the creditors knock on her door and ask for the money or worse being worse take her flat away as she has all her assests in this property. I am really worried about this. I just need some advice and also to hear how this affects her. She has said about signing a pre nup to say that all the debts are mine and the flat is hers. Would this help us both out so I do not affect her.
Many thanks

Hi Kevin,

No - the only thing they can come after her for are joint debts. As long as the flat is in her name only, she'll be fine.

Thank you so much. I was so worried that they could take it off of her. I would never forgive myself if they did.
Many thanks

No - don't worry. If I were you, keep everything as it is, all seperate until the IVA is done and dusted.

Good luck with the wedding plans.
