Hi,

Get a copy of your credit report or check with your local county court

Hi,

You should normally have been told if you have any CCJ's, but if you contact the credit reference agencies and obtain a copy of your records, they should show up on there.

Ok but how do you access your UK credit report? Its not that easy as they ask questions name your credit card companies and how much did you owe? If you have been outside the Uk for 5-6 years, not easy to remember. Is there an easy way to get a copy of your credit report in the UK?

James,

All they ask you to provide is the addresses you have been at in the UK usually for the last 6 years and that is it.

You can obtain your report either through Experian, Equifax or Callcredit (think that is what they are called)

Those are the ones Ray.

They don't ask for all those details, as Ray says, they only want to know your previous addresses and they will then send you a copy of everything they hold on you.

I know Experian charge £2, don't know about the others.

Thanks Jan, I was sure of the first 2 but not Callcredit.

To think I used to work in Finance years ago and used to use Experian for Credit searching people - back in those days it was done on an individuals basis and not a score!!!
