Hi
I have been thinking today of how much the IVA industry has improved compared to two/three years ago.
I think the work that IVA.co.uk has done, the Insolvency services [introducing the new protocol], TIX driving down the fees charged and the high profile of Melanie and David on this forum, along with David's work as the Chairman of the Debt Resolution Forum really has changed the way that IVAs are marketed and perceived by Joe Public and the media.
Today anybody contemplating an IVA is in a much improved and safer place.
Time for the Debt Management Industry to move forward and catch up.
Regards

Thanks for your comments Andy. I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiments and that is what the Debt Resolution Forum is working on. Go to their web site and see what they have been working on - see their latest Newsletter to be posted on Monday here-

How do you think the IVA industry would look now on say watchdog?? Do you think they would be positive or negative?

Positive - but there is still some way to go!!!

I think so too David. Certainly more positively than a few years ago.

So why not try to get some attention on a program like watchdog. The credit crunch is hitting us all,and unemployment is getting higher. It would be a fantastic way to advertise the site and would bring many heads out of the sand. And moreso would stop lots of people getting caught up in never ending DMP's,sell and rent back schemes that usually end up badly, payday loan companies charging a fortune in interest etc etc etc.

IVA's and properly run DMP's are there to help people out of trouble,so take them to the people!!!

How about Panorama? I'm sure a solid half hour programme about the industry with people such as Andy, Melanie and David on there, together with a little something about the ambulance chasers would bring it to a wide audience.

I would love to be on the Panorama sofa with Andy and David. Does anyone know any BBC producers?

Plasticdaft mentioned pay day loans - there was a" cheque clearing shop" in my town until the Local Authority Trading people took action - according to the local paper they charged 30% of the value of the cheque to cash it

Now Mel this doesnt give you an excuse for a new outfit(I know what you women are like!!![:D])

It would be fantastic to get some truths told about what happens, and to inform and educate the masses.

You read my mind Paul! Everytime I go on the telly my husband swears it involves a complete new wardrobe - but we have to get our colours right to fit the mood of the programme!

And I shall expect David and Andy to also be colour co-ordinated in line with my outfit. How does shocking pink suit you guys?

Hahha shocking pink would be fine unless the sofa you are to sit on is pink,I am sure the boys would look just dandy!!! Lots a mid season sales on just now Mel,just dont go overboard with the credit card!!!
