Hello, my IVA completed just over a year ago now but my bank won't give me a mortgage on a property that myself and my mother own outright as they said it needs to be clear for 3 years. Is this the case across the board or do I have other options out there? Thanks in advance

We have two mortgage brokers as experts called Ryan and Shaun. Their details can be found on the members list.

Ryan - http://www.iva.co.uk/forum/memberlist.p ... le&u=18488

Shaun -http://www.iva.co.uk/forum/memberlist.p ... le&u=22837

I can personally vouch for Ryan who has helped in excess of a 100 forum members gain mortgages when they thought it may have been impossible.

Again, good advice from Luluj -- Ryan and Shaun have helped many ex IVA'ers get decent mortgage products. All lenders have theri own criteria regarding lending: some will never lend to you, others will lend right away. Ryan and Shaun will be able to match you to the best lender for your own set of circumstances.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

A lot depends on when the IVA started rather than when it completed. It is worth giving Shaun Vickery from Select a call or Ryan and you should be able to get something resolved.

It's usually 6 years from the start of your IVA.

You might find this quick video I made about cleaning up your credit record useful:

Noddle and Clearscore are also free credit agencies to consider using:
