Re-mortgaging during iva, am I free to approach lenders of my choosing?

Hi I am looking for advice on re mortgaging during my iva.
I will be due to look at this in about 4 months so my question is do I have to apply for re mortgage with the companies that my iva company insist upon or am I free to approach lenders of my choosing? also how many will I need to approach?

Hi Andy,

I think it depends on your Practitioner as to what they will accept. Some will accept just a letter from a Broker like ourselves saying that you aren't able to obtain a Mortgage currently.

A few still don't even make you attempt it, in the knowledge that it just isn't going to happen ---- On the other side of the coin there are those that like to try to get blood from a stone. You need to ask your IP what they require.

You can approach on your own terms but very unlikely while the iva is still ongoing and your records.
