shock horror story time

but long story short

empty promises from GT

took over from BE - not sure who was worse to be honest

Blair endersby sold me an IVA but i was never told about the dreaded review - (worked over time at work to buy presents etc for the gf and kids)

now GT taken over just as i complete my IVA in march and was promised certificate of completion by september at the latest, here we are in december and still no closer

Karol at GT is trying to be helpful but without any answers

Sorry you're having problems still Steve. You should be sorted by now. Hope Karol can do something for you.

So have you been hit with a bill for unpaid overtime? You would only have to pay across any overtime if you agreed to it in your proposal or chairman's report. Check your paperwork x

Doesn't sound as though there is a problem with overtime, it's just the completion certificate that's not been forthcoming.

Hia steve30 - Don't go stressing about it. Must be us March finishers, because I'm with GT, made my last payment in March, and am still waiting for my completion letter too....

Ho hum, I think GT are waiting till Xmas Eve and make it seem like Santa's dropping it off as a pressie. I'd be quite happy with that, but got a feeling that it's not gonna happen somehow.

to be honest

i dont think GT know what they are doing

since they bought out BE

sounds like a badly run business, as they purchased the company and dont know how to do it

To be fair, Steve, when they took over BE, ity was BE in the mess, and the full extent of said mess only became apparent when they started looking at the detail. Since then they have had a tough time trying to sort it all out whilst servicing their "own" clients at the same time.

Always been difficult to get two pints into a pint pot [:)]

My IVA was originally with Accuma and then taken over by GT.
I have to say personally GT have been very good to me.
Final payment made Dec 2011.
Certificate of Completion arrived 26th Sept 2012

i know BE were in a mess due to the fact that "my dedicated account handler" changed more than once a month

but i just want to move on with my life

they have had all the money

the creditors have all agreed on what they will be paid

whats so difficult in sending out the payments and issuing a certificate

Anyone still waiting for their certificates need to be in contact with Grant Thornton on a regular basis to establish what the hold up is - waiting since March for this to come through is not fair on individuals - you will still be showing on the insolvency register and my understanding is if you were to receive a windfall, as your IVA still has not been formally closed then it would still need to enter the IVA for the benefit of your creditors - this really isn't fair. If it were me I would be banging on their door weekly, and probably more often !

Regardless of the state a BE customer accounts, people should not be waiting even 6 months for a completion certificate. GT were happy to take on the work and therefore fees so keep phoning them up!!!

Hopefully Karol can escalate this to the powers that be to get on top of it as it shouldn't be taking this long for some of you.

I don't really want to gloat or rub salt in any wounds but mine was received 5 days after the final payment.

The reason i mention this is not to gloat but a) either my case was VERY simple and/or b) it proves they CAN do it quicker.

The more complicated ones i have no idea on what timescales can be.

I had no property or HMRC claim so prob made things a lot easier.
