Hi, my wife and me are 45 months into a 60 month IVA and my wife recently found out she was pregnant. We were happy as we knew we would manage and she would get maternity pay tthen return to work afterwards. Until the day after she found out she was pregnant, she went in work and got made redundant!!!! Finding it hard to find a job now as she is showing and prospective employers arnt interested in someone who is going to be leaving in a few months.
Really putting a strain on us now and i dont want the IVA to fail. Im self employed so things can be hard enough already with the current climate, this just makes it worse!!!
Bothered that if she cant find a job fast that it will fail and we4 cant face the prospect of losing our house!!

Hi Kingtiler!

Get in touch with your IP and explain the situation. If you've been making payments for the last 45 months, I'm sure they will be willing to be as flexible as they are allowed over the next few difficult months.

If you fall behind in your monthly contributions, it may be possible to write to your creditors and request a reduction or a reschedule of your payments. Your IP should be happy to try this for you if you genuinely start to struggle.

Take care. :)
Take care,

Liam James

Hi
Under the circumstances your creditors may accept payments made to date as full and final and conclude your IVA. Speak with your IP as soon as possible
Congratulations on the pregnancy

Congratulations on the pregnancy, sorry to hear about the redundancy, as Andy says speak with your IP as soon as and hopefully you'll work a way forward x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

You have a great opportunity to get the IVA finalised on the basis of the payments you have made to date being received in full and final settlement. I would contact your IVA to explore whether they are prepared to help you in this regard - I definately would if I were acting for you - and very best of luck with the baby.
