Hello everyone. I’m after some advice please.
Many years ago I had an IVA which was completed by a full and final settlement in 2012. I’ve managed to build up my credit score and have been living debt free ever since with no issues. My son has asked me to be a guarantor on a rental property (which I have done before) but this particular company’s application process asks if I have ever had any adverse credit, CCJ, bankruptcy or IVA. I have never been asked this before so not sure how to answer as I know it’s no longer showing on my credit record. I don’t want to lie but can they find out? Seems a bit unfair to ask this when this came off my record many years ago. I’m a bit stuck on what to do. I don’t want to lie (obviously) but feel I could be penalised if I say yes.
What do to? Any advice or help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

In theory it doesn't show anywhere, but I have long thought that there may be archival records somewhere --- after all those PPI claims firms claimed to be able to go back several decades !!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
