My husband and i separated 14 january 2015, we ran a public house and were partners, when we parted he would not dissolve the partnership and would not let me free of it, since then he has ran up debts of over £70,000 and has put in for an IVA and tells me i must do the same or i will be liable for all the debt, i have never received a wage or any monies from the partnership, can some one please advise

If the partnership debts are in your name also -- or joint debts -- you will be liable if he defaults, so you need to take advice to protect yourself. Was the partnership set up so that only one of you could run up debts without the signature of the other ?

You are likely jointly responsible for the full debts up to the date you left/the partnership was dissolved.

This could mean if your ex does not pay for debts incurred whilst you were a partner you could be pursued for the full amount by creditors.
