Just had my annual review, payments have jump up by nearly 100 pounds despite my wages only increasing by 16pounds….
They are classing my cycle to work scheme as a income, is this right and on my pay slip it shows as a deduction…
Help
Is this scheme new or was it previously included in your expenses ? Although it is a deduction from your wages, that does not automatically make it an allowable expense, as it is voluntary. I have seen instances where such deductions have been allowed as an expense, but usually by prior agreement with the IP, which is discretionary.

Hi, yes a agreed expense took nearly 2 months for it to be agreed.
At the review they are saying it’s a income not a deduction and therefore think I am earning more than I am.
I have tried to point out it’s in the deduction section of my wage slip.
Sounds like an inexperienced person has conducted the review. I would ask that the matter be dealt with further up the chain before the need for a formal complaint or referral to regulators.

Hi foggy, just read the email again does this look right?
Your monthly payment will increase to £474.00 from 20 June 2021. The reason your payment has increased so much is due to the cycle to work scheme you are now part of. I have to include this as part of your income however I am unable to offset this in your expenditure. As a result, this increases your income.
So because I’ve taken HP which was approved by the supervisor and this was not told this would happen when I asked! I’m now earning more?
Thanks in advance
Request that your I&E is reviewed again as your net wage Is less than what you are being advised. Don't know why they have taken that cycle to work is an income unless your net wage has increased. If they insist its correct but cannot show evidence to explain this then raise as a complaint with your IVA company initially and if not satisfied with the response you can either raise to a formal complaint.

I would ask them why they are now reneging on the previous agreement. It isn't a case that you are earning more, it is that they have now decided not to allow this as an expense, as they had previously done.
