I have just recieved a form to fill in for my first review and panicking now. It,s first time ever i have properly checked my P60 and it is very very wrong. There is NO way i have earned what it says on it. Ive checked my wage slips against them over and over and it still looks like ive earned 3000 pounds more than i have. Any clues what to do?
I would firstly take it up wtih your employer as if your wage slips show a different amount to the P60 then there is an error. Does your pay slips agree with your bank credits? It can be traced but might be a lengthy process.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
My wage slips agree with my bank statements. Work are going to question me why i want to question my p60 as they are very nosey and want to know the ins and out of everything.
You want to question it because it is wrong, simple as that. A P60 is supposed to say exactly what you have earned and if it is wrong then it needs correcting.

Check the figure on the March payslip against your P60. The two should be the same as March is month twelve and would show the earnings for the year. If there is a discrepancy point this out to your employer. Tell them the tax credit people want it or you are looking to remortgage and you do not want to look frauduleant when the P60 does not tally with the Month 12 wage slip.
Send this wage slip to your IP and explain to them you are trying to resolve the mistake on the P60.
If your P60 is the same as mine then are you aware that what appears to be "net pay" on your P60 is actually your gross pay minus superannuation and certain charitable donations (i.e - your taxable pay) - to figure out your actual "take home pay" you'll need to take the "Gross Pay" figure from your P60 then subtract all the PAYE and NI that you've paid over the year, but you'll need to take these figures from your payslips as they're not printed on the P60.
I can't guarantee that this is the case for all P60's but it certainly is for the ones issued by the DWP.
