We completed our IVA with Grant Thornton/Aperture in July 2013. Since then they have received two rounds of our PPI compensation. The First round was based on their own research, the second was in 2019, when PPI was extended to credit purchases from a catalogue company. Will Aperture have the right to claim forever any windfall that we can have? Is there any limit on time or sum of money received?
They do not have a right to any post IVA windfall, but PPI was an asset of the arrangement, albeit not known about at the time and it is therefore payable to your former creditors.
Some IPs would simply not bother, depending on the amounts involved, as it is not always financially sound to reopen old case files and contact former creditors for a small amount. However, from what I can see, Aperture will grab anything going !
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
