I have an IVA and have had this for over 2 years now. in January i will have had it for 3 years. I desperately need a new car, but have no savings. Is there anyway i can get a new car on any kind of finance or leasing etc?

There is sometimes a clause in your IVA to allow you to defer payments in order to buy a new vehicle- I know that we do this quite regularly.

Check with your IP to see if this would be possible with your proposal.

It sounds like even if you do get an offer of finance that the IVA may need to be varied, which can be tedious and take some time. As an alternative, are there any family members who could help you to purchase a cheap car, which you could pay them back once the IVA has completed?

The buying of cheap cars during an IVA or other insolvency can lead to further troubles. The wifes car has just cost us almost £800 for an MOT!!! Thats 3 years car maintenance budget gone in a weekend. Maybe if the budget was realistic it would be ok.

As for dunctons, they dont have many cars just now and havent for a while. And the prices are rediculous.

Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.
Continuing to rebuild our credit worthiness.
