I received my letter from Aperture / FDM a couple of days ago and returned it, completed as requested. I answered, truthfully, that I could not recall the details of any accounts, other than those my supervisor already had records of. My last mortgage ended over 20 years ago -- I haven't a CLUE about it ... not even who it was with !!

I also amended the terms on the letter of appointment -- I have yet to see if they respond to this. Basically, I am not giving anyone the right to examine my finances for ever more, so I added a clause that any information collected by them, or divulged to them be limited to information available before the end date of my IVA. I also struck out clause 13, agreeing to be bound by any agreement made between my supervisor and FDM. I am not going to agree to abide by things I have no knowledge of !

Anyway, last night I was made aware of an interesting Debt Camel article on the subject and they always put things far better than I, so have a look: https://debtcamel.co.uk/gt-ppi-letters-after-iva/

To be fair, it is actually nothing new and just brings clarity to the presumptions IPs used to rely on before the case. The thing to bear in mind is that this relates only to matters pre-dating the end of the IVA. Your finances after that are solely your business. Unfortunately, PPI and many of these "miss-selling" claims, or potential claims, existed during the IVA and have to be dealt with.
