I have just settled my IVA early and am waiting for my completion certificate. I am wanting to move house but have been told that as I live in Northern Ireland I will not be considered for a mortgage for at least another 2 years. I have a mortgage with Leeds BS and have never missed a payment with them but they will not allow me to port my mortgage to another property. Are there any lenders that would consider my application?

Whilst your IVA is on your credit files you will find it very difficult to get a mortgage from anyone apart from one or two sub prime lenders who will charge frightening interest rates.

Agree with Foggy - until your credit record is clear, you will struggle.

Sprak to Ryan and or Shaun the forum mortgage experts - they may know of lenders willing to help - do you have your completion certificate yet?

As far as I'm aware your credit rating won't be repaired until October 2019 but unsure if anything is different in Northern Ireland.

Shaun or Ryan can probably advise better.
