Well just been to the Hospital this morning and now been diagnosed with mild epilepsy (long story but have had a few problems for a while) and just been told going to lose my licence for a year - bummer and I was just about to get a new car!!
Oh well at least I know what is wrong with me now and I can apply for a freedom pass yay lol!!!
Thanks Skippy - to be honest It is just the inconvenience of not having my licence which grates me but if I stay in the clear it is only a year and the medicine I have been prescribed should do the job.
Sorry to hear about your problems Ray and hope they can get you sorted.
Just when you thought everything in the garden was rosy!

Thanks MrsKnight and Lesley. I am in extremely good spirits don't know why but in the words of Monty Python - "Always look on the bright side of life" lol [:D]
Fingers crossed that it is sorted in 12 months. Is it still the same that you have to go for 12 months without a waking fit?

Thought it might be. The medication should help though and hopefully in 12 months time you will get your licence back.

Sorry to hear you have been diagnosed with epilepsy but I am sure you will be fine. A good friend of mine at work has epilepsy once they found the right medication for her she got her license back and as you say you get a free freedom pass which you can use at ANY time of the day which is great.
Just for your awareness also you can get a disabled railcard if you are epileptic for £14 a year and it reduces train fares outside of your freedom pass considerably so something you can look into if you ever travel by train to further destinations. Believe it covers you and one other the discount also, every little helps
Thanks you Dave for the useful information did not know about disabled railcard so will look in to that and also Helen thank you for the heads up on medication it is much appreciated and definitely something I will being up with my doctor for sure
