HI

AM I RIGHT IN THINKING THAT A CREDITOR/DEBT COLLECTION AGENCY CAN SEND A PRIVATE BALIFF AROUND TO YOUR HOUSE TOO COLLECT GOODS WITHOUT IT GOING THROUGH THE COURTS FOR UNSECURED DEBTS.

No - only for Council Tax, rent or tax arrears. All other creditors must have obtained a judgement against you in the first instance before commencing enforcement proceedings.

HI MELANIE

THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE I THOUGHT THIS WAS THE CASE BUT I WAS TOLD BY ANOTHER SOURCE THAT ANY CREDITOR CAN EMPLOY A PRIVATE/CERTIFIED BALIFF AND THEY CAN TAKE YOUR FURNITURE BED ETC. WHAT A RELIEF HAD VISIONS OF MEN IN WHITE VAN CHARGING INTO MY HOUSE TAKING ALL MY WORLDLY GOODS AND MY CAR.
