How many months bank statements would be needed to start an IVA? If I was able to clear an overdraft on an account and close down that bank account, then set up a new bank account (with no overdraft) with a different bank, would people ask to still see statements from the old bank account ?

It varies from IP to IP -- but generally three to six. There is nothing wrong with clearing a debt before you go into an IVA and most of us change accounts. I do not see any advantage in settling the overdraft, however, as it would be included as a debt. If there are other dealings you wish to mask an IVA might not be the way to go.

My overdraft was included and I had no overdraft on my new account.

Why do you not want to provide the statements?

Why do you want to clear the o/d? This will be a creditor in your IVA?

If your account was closed I can't see why they would want to see them.. I never had to provide any for my old accounts.
